A diet consumed mostly of processed foods, high in sugar , will cause many health problems like weight gain, increased risk of diabetes, increased risk of heart disease, increased risk of depression and trouble controlling blood sugar levels. 2. Many people who are deficient in important nutrients will experience a weak immune system, more susceptible to viruses and bacteria, low energy, mood swings, problems regulating hormones, and an increased risk of disease. 3. Poor nutrition is directly correlated to the three biggest epidemics in our country - obesity, diabetes and heart disease (each epidemic costs america about $330 Billion per year - that's almost $1 trillion total) 4. 75% of Healthcare spending goes towards treating chronic disease, most of which are diet-related 5. 91% of prescriptions filled are attributable to chronic diseases. 6. The World Health Organization estimates 80% of heart disease, stroke, and Type 2 diabetes cases could be prevented by diet and lifestyle changes
